One of Kiefer Sutherland’s most overlooked films, the supernatural horror thriller “Mirrors,” is making its streaming debut on Hulu starting June 1. The 2008 film stars Sutherland as Ben Carson, a former detective who takes a night security job at a shuttered luxury department store—only to discover the building’s mirrors hide dark and deadly secrets.

Despite its negative reviews from critics, “Mirrors” became a box office success, earning more than $78 million worldwide against a $35 million budget. The film’s chilling plot follows Carson as he confronts a series of gruesome deaths linked to the supernatural power of the store’s mirrors and a secret that spans generations.

The supporting cast includes Paula Patton as Ben’s ex-wife Amy, Amy Smart as his sister Angie, Cameron Boyce as his son Mikey, Jason Flemyng as Detective Larry Byrne, and Mary Beth Peil as Anna Esseker. The film’s commercial success led to a direct-to-video sequel, “Mirrors 2,” in 2010, though none of the original cast or crew returned for the follow-up.

Seventeen years after its release, “Mirrors” is poised to reach a new audience, just in time for horror fans looking for something chilling to stream this summer.
